in japanese, the word "kagami" literally means "mirror"...
this type of jack is known for its mirror shiny appearance, and long streamer-like
fins... as juveniles, they swim or drift near the surface, sometimes in harbors,
and are believed to mimic jellyfish... however, as a fish gets older, the streamers
are lost... Mature individuals entirely lack the long filaments and inhabit
deep water, often below 200 ft... The kagami is not as common as the white ulua
and omilu, but for those fortunate enough to see one they are truly an awesome
specimen...
